emo violence Emo violence is foremost a combination of screamo and power violence. From power violence it has taken the fast part and the hardcore part, from emo the screamy vocals (no barking as in pv then) and more varied pallete of emotions – not just pissed off anger. Genre defining bands were In/Humanity and Palatka. Usage of this tag is debatable, however, as the term originated in a joke told by members of In/Humanity, and there is very little to separate emo violence from screamo at large. screamo has always incorporated fast, thrashy songwriting. Some screamo artists have emphasized this thrashy, powerviolence-esque part of their sound more than others, yet it is unclear where the line is between a heavy screamo band and an emo-violence band.
